Dr. Janet E. Newman

Dr. Janet E. Newman is a veteran classroom teacher, administrator and art literacy coach. She provides our Kindergarten through Fourth grade students with theatre, dance and art experiences linked to their general curriculum studies. With a teaching background spanning 35 years of teaching in public schools, teaching and advising graduate students at the University of Maryland and California State University, San Marcos, adjunct faculty of CMC, as a Consultant at the Colorado Department of Education, and director of several environmental children’s programs, she brings diverse skills to our school. Her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Denver focused on the value of integrating the arts with the general curriculum to anchor core knowledge while exploring culture, technique and appreciation. Dr. Newman owns Clear Learning Tutoring in Edwards, and is married to Rabbi Joel D. Newman of B’nai Vail. They have two grown children.
