Mercy Day 2023

Mercy Day, celebrated annually on September 24th, is the Solemnity of Mary, holy Mother of God, Mother of Mercy, the patronal feast of the Religious Sisters of Mercy of Alma, MI. St. Clare celebrated Mercy day by learning about the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy, and each class chose a service project based on the works of mercy to carry out this year.

Spiritual Works of Mercy

  • Bear wrongs patiently
  • Forgive offenses
  • Counsel the doubtful
  • Instruct the ignorant
  • Pray for the living and the dead
  • Admonish the sinner

Corporal Works of Mercy

  • Shelter the homeless
  • Visit the imprisoned
  • Visit the sick
  • Feed the hungry
  • Give drink to the thirsty
  • Clothe the naked
  • Bury the dead

St. Clare’s also celebrated with a Eucharistic procession through the school, and each classroom was blessed with the Eucharistic Lord!
