Under the guidance of the Archdiocese of Denver Catholic Schools, St. Clare’s time-tested curriculum exceeds common academic expectations with a strong foundation in Reading, Writing, Math, Science, History and Theology. At St. Clare, we believe it takes more than just academics to be successful in life.
St. Clare of Assisi Catholic School is committed to educating the whole child—intellectually, spiritually, physically, socially and emotionally—through quality academic and cocurricular instruction that is grounded in Catholic teaching and tradition. Each child has a mission to make a difference in the world. St. Clare delivers a curriculum for life.
Intellectual Formation
Each student benefits from differentiated learning and is supported by qualified, caring adults. St. Clare provides a strong, standards-based curriculum in all subject areas: religion, reading, language arts and writing, math, science, social studies, music, physical education, visual and performing arts and Spanish. Our students are challenged academically and prepared for success in high school and beyond.
Spiritual Formation
Our Catholic faith is our constant guide and is embedded into the school day through prayer, religion class and participation in the weekly, student-led Mass. Retreats are also offered for students at different times, especially in preparation for receiving sacraments.
Physical Formation
Through recess, physical education class, and extracurricular opportunities, St. Clare encourages the physical activity, teamwork and sportsmanship skills essential to developing healthy bodies and minds.
In addition to Physical Education classes, St. Clare offers several other physical education opportunities for students throughout the year, including: Learn-to-Ski Days (K-8): The entire school participates in 2 consecutive days of Beaver Creek Ski School. Field Day (K – 8): Students participate in a traditional Field Day each May/June where they complete in events such as the 50 yard dash and tug-of-war (among others) and show their school spirit. Hut Trip (7-8): Students snow shoe to huts, where they spend the night. This trip combines outdoor education and opportunities for spiritual growth with physical education.
Social and Emotional Formation
Each student learns in an environment that is physically and emotionally safe for students and adults. The small class sizes at St. Clare allow teachers to truly get to know their students and to cultivate their self-confidence, self-worth, and self-esteem.
Each student is actively engaged in learning and is connected to the school and broader community. Students’ social development is encouraged and strengthened through daily teachings, role modeling and mentoring.
